Spain – La Liga: Champions Barcelona are top of the table and host Atletico Madrid on Saturday night, while Real Madrid, who also have six points out of six, host newly-promoted Xerez on Sunday.
Valencia have started strongly with David Villa and David Silva (pictured) back in the goals again. They are at home to Sporting Gijon on a relaid pitch at the Mestalla after their first home match of the season against Sevilla was played on one of the worst surfaces ever seen in Spain’s top division.
England – Premier League: Liverpool are away at West Ham on Saturday night with Arsenal at home to Wigan earlier in the day. The Manchester derby is on Sunday with United hosting a weakened City, who have Emmanuel Adebayor suspended following his stamp and provocative goal celebration against Arsenal last week.
Chelsea, who are top, host Spurs on Sunday.
Italy- Serie A: AC Milan, struggling for points, are playing Bologna at home on Sunday while Juventus, who have started well and who won at Lazio last week, are at home to Livorno on Saturday.
Cagliari are at home to Inter and Roma host Fiorentina.
Elsewhere in Germany’s Bundesliga, Bayern host Nurnberg, Leverkusen host Weder Bremen on Sunday and Schalke play Wolfsburg tonight.
Over in Ligue 1 in France Boulogne host champions Bordeaux while Lyon are away at PSG, and in Portugal’s Liga Sagres, Braga are at home to Porto, Benfica travel to Uniao Leiria and Sporting play Olhanense on Monday.
