FA Cup – it’s Chelsea V Everton
Posted on | April 19, 2009 | 2 Comments
Although Wembley was packed for the second semi-final of the FA Cup huge questions have again hung over the latter stages of this ancient competition.
As both Everton and Manchester United are based well over 100 miles north of London, many fans were left wondering why the semi final was held at Wembley and not one of the neutral grounds of yesteryear – such as Villa Park, Birmingham.
Manchester United also fielded a relatively weakened team in a move which made a mockery of Alex Ferguson’s comments towards Rafael Benitez, whom he branded disrespectful for once saying Everton were a small club.

By saying Fergie has also spoken out against the quality of the Wembley pitch after yesterday’s game – with Aresenal boss Arsene Wenger also slamming it following his team’s tie with Chelsea.
Remember what a mess it was for the England Croatia debacle last year. The FA need to sort it, Wembley should be a snooker table, not a cabbage patch.
